Big List Of FREE Omaha Trunk Or Treats (UPDATED 2026)

There is no shortage of fun things to do for Halloween in Omaha — I have a whole blog post with a complete list of Halloween events in Omaha, after all. But sorting through all of it is tough if all you want to know about are the free trunk or treats. So, I’ve saved you the time and gathered all the free Halloween trick-or-treat (and trunk or treat) events in Omaha for 2026 into one list. Enjoy!

Please note that many of these events are planned for the outdoors and are subject to the weather cooperating.

• Miller Park Trunk or Treat is Oct. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Miller Park, 5625 N. 28th Ave., with trick or treating, food, candy, carnival games, and crafts.
• Halloween Boo Bash is Oct. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Village Pointe Shopping Center, 17305 Davenport St. The free event includes trick-or-treating along Davenport Street with special characters and store participants from 1 to 3 p.m. and magic shows at the Amphitheater Stage at 1:15 and 2:15 p.m.
• Bloomwell Autism Therapy, 613 N. 204th Ave. Circle, will have a free Sensory-Friendly Trunk or Treat on Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon, that also includes a petting zoo, sensory bins, craft stations, and play gym.
• FMCB Indoor Trick-or-Treating is Oct. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Omni Centre, 300 W. Broadway, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Collect candy from the farmers market vendors and enjoy live music. It’s free and indoors.
• Trick or Treat at Mindcolor Autism, 11111 M St., is Oct. 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. It’s a free event.
• Omaha Public Library’s Spooktacular events are held throughout October. Generally, each event includes trick-or-treating, as well as storytime and crafts. Parents need to be present. Most do not require pre-registration, but it’s a good idea to double-check for the particular location you’re interested in.
  • Spooktacular is Oct. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Omaha Public Library Millard Branch, 13214 Westwood Lane.
  • The Spooktacular at the Downtown Branch, 1401 Jones St., is Oct. 19 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • There’s the Spooktacular at Omaha Public Library Sorensen Branch, 4808 Cass St., on Oct. 20 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Catch the Spooktacular on Oct. 23 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Bess Johnson Elkhorn Branch, 2100 Reading Plaza, Elkhorn, Neb.
  • The Spooktacular is Oct. 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Willa Cather Branch, 1905 S. 44th St.
  • The Spooktacular at the Saddlebrook Branch, 14850 Laurel Ave., is Oct. 27 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • The Spooktacular at the Florence Branch, 2920 Bondesson St., is Oct. 29 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. FREE, and no preregistration needed.
  • The final Spooktacular is on Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to noon at Omaha Public Library’s Central Library, 7205 Dodge St. It’s free and no pre-registration is needed.

• Trunk or Treat at Quaker Steak & Lube, 3320 Mid America Drive, Council Bluffs, Iowa, is Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
• Trunk or treat in the parking lot of Dickinson & Clark CPAs, PC, 535 W. Broadway, Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Oct. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. It’s free.
• Tricks & Treats is Oct. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Westwood Plaza, 12125 W. Center Road. In addition to plenty of candy, there will be live performers, special characters, and surprises.
• There will be trick-or-treating during the Pumpkin Painting event at Chambers Court, 2124 N. 16th St., on Oct 16 at 3 p.m. All ages and non-residents are welcome. Food and drinks provided, and there will be a kid-friendly haunted house and music.
• Trunk or Treat at Carpenters Union Training Center, 10761 Virginia St., La Vista, Neb., is Oct. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m.
• Trunk-N-Treat at Midwest Family Worship Center, 2540 Sixth Ave., Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Oct. 17 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. There will games and free Ranger Meals from Texas Roadhouse.
• Munroe Meyers Institute’s sensory-friendly Trick or Treat event is Oct. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. for individuals with disabilities and their families. Treats and trinkets will be distributed at stations throughout the first floor at 6902 Pine St.
• Annual Trunk Or Treat at Sippin’ Sirens, 4302 S. 42nd St., is Oct. 18 at 2 p.m.
• Field of Treats is Oct. 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Iowa West SportsPlex, 3260 Mid America Drive, Council Bluffs, Iowa. The event is a free indoor trick or treating event for children of all ages.
• Smile Station Pediatric Dentistry and Omaha Orthodontics’ Trunk or Treat is Oct. 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 180th & Harrison. Several local businesses will participate. Come in costumes for a chance to win a prize.
• Trick or Treat at Oak View Mall, 3001 S. 144th St., on Oct. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a haunted maze, games, and live music at the food court. Grab a mall passport book and collect a stamp at each stop. Admission is free.
• Trunk or Treat Community Celebration at Girls Inc. of Omaha-Katherine Fletcher Center, 2811 N. 45th St., is Oct. 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. It’s free and open to the community.
• Trunk or treat at The Vessel Network, 10834 Emmet St., is Oct. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. The Vessel Network is an adult disability day center. There will be a family-friendly haunted house, bounce house, games, face painting and food. Free-will donation.
• Halloween At The Hoff is Oct. 23 from 4 to 10 p.m. at Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, 1001 S. Sixth St., Council Bluffs, Iowa. Free activities include trick-or-treating, live music, youth & adult costume contests, and the haunted flashlight gallery tour.
• The 15th annual Baseballoween is Oct. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Werner Park. There will be trick-or-treating, activity stations, and a family-friendly movie on the videoboard. It’s free, and non-perishable food donations are encouraged.
• Supercars For A Cause Trunk or Treat is Oct. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. on the lower level of Oak View Mall, 3001 S. 144th St. Cars will be grouped into Halloween themes, and each one will support a nonprofit. Admission is free; donations are encouraged.
• Trunk-or-Treat at Montclair Community Center, 2304 S. 135th Ave., on Oct. 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The free event in collaboration with Montclair School and Montclair Trendwood Parkside Georgetowne Neighborhood Association.
• Benson Boo Bash is Oct. 24. More details TBA.
• Empowerment Network’s Trunk Or Treat In The Village is Oct. 24 from noon to 3 p.m. in the 24th and Lake Historic District from 24th and Ohio to 24th and Burdette. Collect candy from decorated trunks, play games and with local organizations, churches and neighbors. Open to all ages.
• Trick or Treat on the Trail is a free event on Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lincoln Place Park, 20951 Lincoln Road, Gretna, Neb. There will also be games along the trail.
• Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska’s free Trunk or Treat, in partnership with The National Association of Women in Construction, is Oct. 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Girl Scout DreamLab, 8601 W. Dodge Road. There will be candy and free giveaways. Admission is free. Costumes encouraged.
• Halloween Celebration at Unity of Omaha, 3424 N. 90th St., is Oct. 25. The dress-up Halloween celebration starts at 10:30 a.m., followed by an indoor trunk or treat from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and free Halloween music bingo at 2 p.m.
• Iowa Army National Guard Trunk or Treat is Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Council Bluffs Readiness Center, 2415 E. Kanesville Blvd., Council Bluffs, Iowa.
• Bennington Jaycee’s Trunk or Treat is Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bennington Elementary School’s parking lot (or indoors, in case of inclement weather), 11620 N. 156th St., Bennington, Neb.
• Trunk or Treat at Messiah Lutheran Church, 5015 S. 80th St., Ralston, Neb., is Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be decorated trunks, candy, photo booths, and craft stations.
• Bellevue Community Foundation’s Trick Or Treat in Downtown Bellevue is Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. at participating merchants. It’s a free event. Non-perishable food items will be collected for the Bellevue Food Pantry.
• Trunk or Treat at The Water’s Edge Church, 19600 Harrison St., is Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will also have games.
• Waterloo Days Foundation’s Boo the ‘Loo, an annual community Trunk or Treat, is Oct. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m.
• Kids Halloween Parade is Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Papillon Landing, 1046 W. Lincoln St., Papillion, Neb. Collect treats throughout Papillion Landing. FREE, but registration is requested.
• The free Drop-In! Trick or Treat at the Council Bluffs Public Library, 400 Willow Ave., is Oct. 28 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Most appropriate for kids ages 5 and under.
• Sixth Annual Creekside Trunk or Treat is Oct. 28 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Creekside Church, 3320 Harry Langdon Blvd., Council Bluffs, Iowa. There will be hayrack rides, train rides, live animal, hot chocolate and more. It’s free and open to the community.
• Trick Or Treat at the retirement and assisted living facility WEL-Life at Papillion, 801 N. Adams St., Papillion, Neb., on Oct. 29 from 6 to 7 p.m.
• Fall-O-Ween is Oct. 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. outside the La Vista Police Department, 7701 S. 96th St., La Vista, Neb. There’s the traditional Back the Boo Trunk-or-Treat experience as La Vista Police hand out candy from decorated cruisers, as well as pumpkin bowling, candy corn ring toss, inflatables and yard games. There’s also a free walking taco dinner, hot chocolate and s’mores.
• Trick or Treat at the Millard Makers Market on Oct. 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the parking lot of Oak View Mall, 3001 S. 144th St. There will also be a bounce house, games, and music.
• Trunk or Treat at Gretna Crossing YMCA is Oct. 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• Halloween Spooktacular at Nebraska Furniture Mart, 700 S. 72nd St., is Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be trick-or-treat stations, costume character appearances, face painting, cotton candy, and more. Costumes are encouraged.
• The Annual Trunk or Treat at Tangier Shrine, 2823 S. 84th St., is Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a free event.
