Ditmars Red, White & Blue BBQ will be a Kansas City Barbecue Society event, featuring live music, barbecue and all of the regular orchard activities. Admission is $20 for adults (ages 13+), $15 for kids (ages 4-12), and free for kids 3 and younger. Admission includes a plate of food.

The first ever Puerto Rican Fest in Omaha is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be live music, games, a bounce house and clowns, and food from Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Chile, Columbia and Mexico. |

2 events,Nelson Produce Farm's Sixth Annual Watermelon Festival will be held over two weekends: Aug. 3 & 4 and Aug. 10 & 11. Highlights include the farm's famous watermelon slushie, watermelon bus rides, watermelon eating contest, seed spitting contest, hayrack ride, face painting, Tri-ath-melon, all-you-can-eat watermelon buffet, exploding watermelon, and live music. The Durham Museum celebrates Root Beer Float Day each year by giving away a free 8 oz. Root Beer Float (while supplies last) at the museum's old-fashioned Soda Fountain. The day also includes science demonstrations by Dr. Oxygen from 1 to 2 p.m. and games. Included with museum admission, and free for members.
