Recently my wife and I needed to throw our baby girl a fun, cost-effective and affordable 1-year birthday party. After racking our brains for several weeks about what we were going to do, we decided: Dave & Buster’s!
We considered Dave and Buster’s for a few reasons:
1. We needed something fun and fast.
2. We needed something affordable but worth the time.
3. We needed something entertaining for both adults and kids.
Dave & Buster’s not only makes for a great make shift birthday celebration but it also can take a boatload of the expenses off of parents. The fun seating in the back is perfect for a small group party, but is also separated just enough to politely scream, “pay for yourself.” This for us was definitely one of the highlights!
If you’re thinking about where to plan your child’s next birthday party or somewhere to host and celebrate a particular occasion, for fun, effective and affordable I recommend Dave & Buster’s for all ages.
Here are a few tips we picked up hosting our daughter’s birthday bash there:
1. Get there early
One of the small but instrumental factors in our cool experience with Dave and Busters was that we got there early enough in the day to claim our territory in the back and gather enough tables we needed for our group.
2. Saturday is a great choice
Groups don’t seem to be as big late morning early afternoon on a Saturday there; it’s the perfect time to plan a small group function.
3. Keep the numbers limited
We kept our group small. That way we didn’t need a ton of space. This plays to your advantage too because if there are more people there than you expected you still are not going to need as much space to accommodate your party.
4. Don’t get carried away on games
I must warn you, the constant sound of video games and fun activities taking place around you can get pretty tempting. However, if you want to stay ahead and remain cost effective, map out a simple budget for games!
5. Don’t plan the party for too long
We scheduled our party for 2 hours. That was plenty of time for our small group of family and friends to connect, eat and enjoy each other.
