Restaurants Open On Thanksgiving + Where You Can Pre-Order Meals (2025)

Whether you forgot to to thaw the turkey in time or you just don’t want to cook, you won’t go hungry on Thanksgiving. Several area restaurants will be open on Thanksgiving Day this year. Many (if not most) require advance reservations, so make yours ASAP!

Here are the Omaha restaurants that have announced they will be open on Thanksgiving Day (November 27, 2025). Even if the listing doesn’t say reservations are required, it’s almost always a good idea to make one ahead of time on a holiday.

  • Not a restaurant, but if you find yourself in need a pint or two after dinner, Brickway Brewery & Distillery, 1116 Jackson St., is open on Thanksgiving from 5 to 11 p.m.
  • Brother Sebastian’s Steak House & Winery, 1350 S.119th St., is a popular restaurant typically open on Thanksgiving. Reservations are highly recommended.
  • Candlelight Bar and Grill, 5031 Grover St., opens at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
  • Carl’s At Mahoney will have a Thanksgiving buffet on Thanksgiving Day, with three separate seatings (10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m.). Reservations are required; call (402) 521-5711 Ext. 6. The restaurant is located inside the lodge at Mahoney State Park, and a valid park entry permit is required.
  • Cascio’s Steakhouse, 1620 S. 10th St., is another local steakhouse typically open on Thanksgiving.
  • Curry In A Hurry, 2527 N. 72nd St., will be open on Thanksgiving.
  • Dundee Dell, 5007 Underwood Ave., will be open on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Dynamite Woodfire Grill (inside The Farnam), 1299 Farnam St., is open on Thanksgiving. Reservations are really limited, with just a handful of late morning openings.
  • The theme cafe, Edge of the Universe, 6070 Maple St., will open on Thanksgiving and will be doing its weekly Thursday night event, Karaoke Night, at 7 p.m. 
  • Flora Cafe, 1009 Farnam St., will be open on Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items from their Thanksgiving Menu will need to be ordered ahead of time.
  • Frosty Mug Sports Bar, 2611 N. 204th St., Suite 101, Elkhorn, Neb., will be open on Nov. 27 from 4 to 9 p.m.
  • Good Life Sports Bar & Grill locations will be on Nov. 27 from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Goose’s Bar & Grill, 129 N. Washington, Papillion, Neb., isn’t technically open for business, but they will open their doors at 4 p.m. to serve free meals until the food’s gone (probably around 7 p.m.). All are welcome
  • Green Beans Coffee, 6831 S. 167th St., will be open on Thanksgiving from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • The dive bar Homy Inn, 1510 N. Saddle Creek Road, will be open starting at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
  • Jerico’s, 11732 W. Dodge Road, is another steakhouse that’s usually open on Thanksgiving. I couldn’t find hours for 2025 yet, but almost every year in the past, they’ve been open from noon to 9 p.m. Reservations required.
  • J. Gilbert’s Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood, 1010 Capitol Ave., is open on Thanksgiving Day, with reservations available for the lunch hour.
  • Johnny’s Cafe, 4702 S. 27th St., is open on Thanksgiving from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. They have a special holiday menu for the day. Reservations are required.
  • The Light House Cafe, 119 W. Mission Ave., Bellevue, Neb., offers a free meal on Thanksgiving for anyone who needs it. Fourth annual Give Thanksgiving Meal is Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • LOVE CAN Thanksgiving Pop-Up is Nov. 27 from 1 to 6 p.m. at 2525 N. 37th St. All are welcome for a free meal provided by by Project Intentional, 50 Mile March, and Adrea Clark, Realtor.
  • The bar Luke’s Corner, 6002 S. 42nd St., will be open on Thanksgiving from noon to 2 a.m.
  • Nick’s Quorum Bar & Supper Club (inside Hilton Omaha), 1001 Cass St., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Here’s the Thanksgiving Feast menu.
  • NP Mart, 3024 Ames Ave., is open on Thanksgiving Day for last-minute items and booze.
  • Okey Dokey Bar and Grill will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., 2007 N. 72nd St.
  • Omaha Marriott Downtown, 222 N. 10th St., will have a Thanksgiving Buffet with seatings from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., noon to 2 p.m., 2:15 to 4:30 p.m., and 3:15 to 5 p.m. Costs is $19-$65.
  • Porky Butts BBQ, 15475 Ruggles St., is opening up on Thanksgiving to serve first responders, service men and women, and veterans from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Lounge-meets-bookstore Reading Room, 1505 Farnam St., will be open from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
  • Ruhlman’s, 603 US Highway 6, Ashland, Neb., is open on Thanksgiving and will have a buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sam’s Leon Mexican Food, 5014 S 20th St, will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sugars Lounge and Diner, 2725 E. Kanesville Blvd., Council Bluffs, Iowa, will be open on Thanksgiving, serving breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. and a turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sullivan’s Steakhouse, 222 S. 15th St., Suite 152 S, is open on Thanksgiving and will have a $52 Prix Fixe Menu available.
  • Both locations of Wild Chicken Grill will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Of course, there will be restaurant chains open on Thanksgiving Day, as well. Here are a few that will be open: Flemmings (two-course menu available), Kona Grill (Thanksgiving menu runs Nov. 27-30), Saltgrass Steakhouse, and Texas de Brazil.

Take-out Thanksgiving meals in 2025

For those who want to eat at home but don’t want to do all the cooking, there are take-out meals. Here are several Omaha Metro places that offer pre-ordered Thanksgiving meals (pick-up time and days vary):

  • A Casserole To Go, 5520 Miller Ave., Ralston, Neb., is a division of Abraham Catering, and has delivery available in the Omaha Metro.
  • The Thanksgiving menu for A Catered Affair, 8351 N. 134th Ave., includes Breakfast Spreads, Appetizers, Dinner, and Extras (additional sides that serve four). The Traditional Feast serves four and is $98. Orders are due by Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. Pick up is Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.⁠
  • Bellevue Berry & Pumpkin Ranch‘s Thanksgiving Menu includes smoked turkey, spiral honey glazed ham and side dishes for pre-order, as well as Cowboy Ed’s Thanksgiving Feast (which feeds 20 people). Call to place your order, (402) 706-2030 or (402) 331-5500.
  • Big Mama’s Kitchen & Catering, 2112 N. 30th St., Suite 201, offers a mix of soul food and comfort food catering, including their famous sweet potato pie for dessert.
  • Boxer BBQ, 513 S. Main St., Council Bluffs, Iowa, has a Holiday Dinner meal that serves 12-15 that includes a whole smoked turkey, choice of two sides, and fresh dinner rolls. Cost is $130. Limited availability so pre-order early.
  • Elie’s Chinchorro Caribbean Bistro, 906 N. 16th St., offers Thanksgiving catering featuring Puerto Rican cuisine. Call (402) 345-1109 to order.
  • Freestyle Flavor’s Catering has different Thanksgiving package options that feed about 10 people. Choose roasted, smoked, or fried turkey (12-15 lbs) or a brown sugar honey-glazed ham as the main course, and select three sides. For an additional charge, the main course can be upgraded to brisket, lamb chops, or prime rib. Packages start at $100. Call (402) 917-1628 to order.
  • Johnny’s Cafe, 4702 S. 27th St., has a Thanksgiving To-Go Menu available. Pick-up is Nov. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m.
  • Lazy Buffalo, 3924 1/2 Farnam St., offers smoked turkey breast that feeds three to five people. Cost is $65 plus tax. Pre-order by email [email protected] by Nov. 20.
  • Mealbox by Chef Will Birge has a holiday menu that includes a la carte options or the Thanksgiving Meal Deal (one of every item; cost is $350 for 10 items). Your order is delivered.
  • Mouth of the South, 16909 Lakeside Hills Plaza, is offers catering for Thanksgiving meals with a Cajun twist, like with options like buttermilk fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and gouda Mac and cheese.
  • Omaha Marriott Downtown, 222 N. 10th St., is offering a Thanksgiving Take-Home Box that serves approximately four. Cost is $200. Pick up is Wednesday, Nov. 26, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. in Burdock + Bitters inside the hotel.
  • Porky Butts BBQ, 15475 Ruggles St., has a $125 meal that serves up to 6 people and includes choice of 1/2 smoked pit ham, turkey breast, or spiral ham (+$30), choice of two sides, and 12 rolls. Meats, sides, and dessert a la carte options also available. Last day to order is Nov. 20, and pick-up is Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call (531) 466-7343 to order.
  • Railcar Modern American Kitchen, 1814 N. 144th St., offers catering options.
  • Rettele’s Catering & Charcuterie offers sides and desserts, sold in batches served in a 9×13 pan. Sides include traditional options like mashed potatoes and gravy and sage stuffing. Desserts include cobbler, cannolis, and bread pudding. They’re taking orders through Nov. 16 with pick up by Nov. 26. Call or text Andrea at (402) 880-6919.
  • Rib Shack SmokeHouse, 10841 Q St., Suite 105, has slow-smoked meals available to pre-order, including whole turkeys, smoked meats, and classic homemade sides. Call (402) 502-6695 to order.
  • SET The Bar, 6121 Maple St., Suite 2, is offering Thanksgiving Take & Bakes, including green bean casserole, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. Gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options available. Orders must be placed by Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. Pick-up is Nov. 25 and 26 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; delivery ($10) is available if you live within a 20-mile radius.
  • Timber Wood Fire Bistro, 8702 Pacific St., offers catering options.
  • Veg.Edible, 2740 N. 61st St., caters meals that are vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free (except coconut). Pre-orders with a seven-day notice are required.
