Valentine’s Day can be as big or as low-key as you want in Omaha. In fact, many early February events planned involve Galentine’s Day themes or completely platonic hearts and crafts. If you want an extra romantic Valentine’s Day, though, you’ll need to start planning early so read on. And if you just want an excuse for a sweet treat or drink, that’s on this Valentine’s Day list, too.

Valentine’s Day 2026 is on a Saturday, so making reservations or purchasing tickets far in advance will be important. Waiting until the last minute to make a grand gesture is not a good idea.

Things to do on Valentine’s Day in Omaha in 2026
Below are events with Valentine’s Day-themed activities and events for couples in Omaha held on Valentine’s Day (or near that date). Read them carefully because you may need to buy tickets in advance or pre-registrater. These events are intended for adults. Skip to the last section for all ages events and activities intended for families.
For memorable places to celebrate love, there’s the after-hours event, Shark Tunnel of Love, Feb. 11-14 at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. On Feb. 13 and 14, the zoo offers Kids Night Out, so you can go knowing childcare is covered.
There are a couple Valentine-themed pop-up bars around the Omaha Metro this year. Cupid’s Corner, a Valentine’s pop-up bar, running Feb. 2-14 at Crescent Moon Ale House, 3578 Farnam St. The Corner Kick Sports Bar, 13806 P St., also has a Valentine’s Day pop-up called Cupids Corner through Feb. 15. The Tipsy Pig, 1150 Sterling Ridge Drive, Suite 100, will have their Valentine pop-up open through March 1. It’s described as “Romantic vibes. Pretty cocktails.”
Do a little wine and chocolate tasting surrounded by art. The Art Of Love: Creative Pairings is Feb. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at KANEKO, 1111 Jones St. Cost is $45 or $35 for members and students. If wine isn’t your thing, how about tequila? Tequila Tasting and Pottery is Feb. 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Rosy Clay Co., 138 N Washington St., Suite 101, Papillion, Neb. Cost is $110 per person and includes three tequilas and a guided thrown pottery class to make a cup designed specifically for a classic cantarito drink. There’s also Valentine’s Night Out on the 14th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center in Council Bluffs, where you can paint fun portraits of each other while you sip, snack on a charcuterie board, and enjoy a dessert.
Your favorite date night spot will be a good bet for Valentine’s Day, but if you want to try something new, here are a few special dinners planned for the 14th: Valentine’s Day Dinner at The Heights Venue, 3605 3605 N. Somers Ave., Fremont, Neb., is Feb. 14 with seating starting at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $42. SET The Bar, 6121 Maple St., Suite 2, will have a prix fixe dinner and wine pairings special on Feb. 14, and their domes will be decorated for Valentine’s Day. Bailey’s Breakfast & Lunch isn’t typically open for dinner but they’re making an exception for the five-course meal planned for Dinner After Dark on Feb. 14.
Other food-centric options include: Sur La Table will show you how to make Be Mine Macarons on Feb. 6, 11 and 14. Lauritzen Gardens will have two nights for Valentine’s Day Dinners, Feb. 13 and 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets include a multi-course meal and live music.
Want something not exactly lovey-dovey, but definitely memorable on Feb. 14? There’s Bingo Loco at The Admiral or Omaha Poetry Slam at The Local Art Plug. Go see improv comedy at Backline Comedy. A few days before Valentine’s Day, play Music Bingo – Love/Hate Valentine’s Theme is Feb. 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Heavy Brewing Co.
There are a variety of live music options for Valentine’s Day this year. There’s PetRock at The Astro, The Taylor Party: Taylor Swift Night at Slowdown, and Omaha Symphony presents Elvis and The Symphony with Pat Dunn on Feb. 14 & 15 at the Holland Center. On Feb. 13, catch Every Rose Has Its Thorn: A Poison Valentine’s Party at Bogey’s Bar & Grill.
FYI: If you want to celebrate Valentine’s Day early, First Fridays In The Village: It’s Black Love, Baby! is Feb. 6 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 24th and Lake streets. And in Papillion, there’s Date Night – Mocktails and Macarons at Loft 22, 134 N. Washington St., Suite 2, Papillion, Neb., on Feb. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Get your dance on at Reggaeton Rave at Steelhouse Omaha on Feb. 14 or Projekt XO – A Valentine’s Red Rave at Yokocho Ika San in the Old Market. A little less rave but still a party, there’s Love Bites: Gothic Valentine’s Day Ball, also on Feb. 14 at Oak View Mall. Nite Owl has the Pajama Jammy Jam with DJ Crab Rangucci and Riz The DJ on the 14th. Just wear your PJs and you’ll get a treat. And for a totally different sort of dancing, there’s Country Line Dancing at The Studio Dundee on Feb. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.
If live theater sounds appealing, you have some options. Valentine’s Day Weekend is Opening Weekend for “Hair” at Omaha Community Playhouse. “A Beautiful Noise Musical: The Neil Diamond Musical” is at the Orpheum Theater Feb. 10-15. “The Heart Sellers” is on stage at BLUEBARN Theatre that weekend. And it’s the final weekend to see “Frozen Charlottes” at Shelterbelt Theatre.
If you and your beloved love watching sports, Valentine’s Day Weekend is packed with options: UNO Men’s Hockey plays Denver Feb. 13 & 14 at Baxter Arena, Creighton Bluejays Men’s Basketball plays Villanova on Feb. 14 at CHI Health Center Omaha, UNO Men’s Basketball plays Denver on Feb. 14 at Baxter Arena, and Omaha Supernovas plays Orlando Valkyries on Feb. 15 at CHI Health Center Omaha.
“Love Lines: An Expression of Love” is on display Second Floor Landing at the Hot Shops Art Center from Feb. 6-22. Special events during the run of the exhibit include Art Fluid on Feb. 13 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Neb., has a Valentine’s Day Package add-on to any cabin or lodge room reservation over Valentine’s Day Weekend. It includes Baker’s Chocolates, hot chocolate, tickets to the movie on Feb. 14 at Kountze Memorial Theater, and two stocking caps. The add-on package is $55.
Galentine’s Day events in Omaha

I like that Galentine’s Day has become a thing, and that it’s been embraced by restaurants and small businesses alike. Why not celebrate your love for your friends? With that in mind, here are upcoming Galentine’s Day events in 2026:
Get creative with your besties the week before Valentine’s Day. Lauritzen Gardens has a Valentine’s Cookie Decorating Workshop on Feb. 6. Galentine’s Day Cookie Decorating is Feb. 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mangelsen’s, 3457 S. 84th St. Crafts & Drafts is Feb. 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Bohemian, 1406 S. 13th St. Me & Hue Mobile Art Studio hosts a Galentine’s Pressed Floral Craft Workshop on Feb. 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mickeys Tavern
166 S. Second St., Springfield, Neb. For another hands-on day out option, there’s Girls Just Wanna Have Blossoms on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Hey Jay Cafe, 8001 N. 157th St., Bennington, Neb. You’ll style your own flower arrangement under the direction of Empty Nest Blossoms.
For something a little more fancy, Circo has the Galentine’s Wine Event on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. featuring snacks and curated wines. Over in Ashland, there’s the Besties & Bottles: A Galentine Evening at Cellar 426 on Feb. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. Catalyst will have a Galentine’s Day event on Feb. 13 with specialty drinks including a wine float made in partnership with Ted & Wally’s.
For events that combine a little bubbly with a little shopping, the Third Annual Galentine’s Day at Corkscrew in Rockbrook Village is Feb. 7 from 2 to 8 p.m. Galentine Glitz is Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. at Loft 22, 134 N. Washington St., Suite 2, Papillion, Neb. Buried in My Closet — Galentine’s Day Edition is Feb. 12 from 5 to 11 p.m. at Anna’s Place, with a curated selection to shop by Daisy Jones Locker. Galentine’s Day Sip and Shop is Feb. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Corkscrew in the Blackstone District. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine while you shop.
For an active Galentine’s Day, Peak Performance, 519 N. 78th St., will have a casual group run on Feb. 7 from 3 to 5 p.m., followed by drinks, snacks and in-store discounts.
On Feb. 13, SET The Bar, 6121 Maple St., Suite 2, is planning a Galentine’s Day event that includes Girl Dinner, a Leslie Knope–inspired waffle special, and plus crafts. Galentine’s at Big Grove Brewery, 4601 Catalyst Court, is Feb. 13 from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring crafting and Galentine’s-themed trivia, plus a special event menu. Gilded Feather, 203 S. 18th St., will have a Galentine’s Day Dinner on Feb. 13, as well, featuring a three-course celebration. Reservations recommended. Galentine’s Day Dinner at Pasta Amore, 11027 Prairie Brook Road, is a five-course affair with games on Feb. 13. You’ll want to make reservations for it.
Options on Valentine’s Day include Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Nebraska will host a Winter Pike (Pie + Hike) on Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Schramm Park. Pre-registration is required.
There are a couple Galentine’s Day events after the holiday. Herbe Sainte has the Paint your Pals event on Feb. 15 during brunch. Galentine’s Day Fundraiser on Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hot Shops Art Center. Tickets are $10.
Valentine’s Day with kids
There are several ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day as a family. Here are a few events that time out with the holiday.
- Sur La Table has some family cooking classes centered on Valentine’s Day, including Family Fun: Valentine’s Day Treats on Feb. 8 and Family Fun: Heart Cookie Decorating on Feb. 14.
- Kipp Omaha celebrates Valentine’s Day all day Feb. 13 and 14 with Hearts In The Park. It’s included with admission, and free for members.
- Omaha Children’s Museum’s Family Fun Weekend Theme for Feb. 13-15 is dogs: Pup-Cup Showdown. Come see Bluey, Scooby Doo and the Paw Patrol during regular museum hours. The Nebraska Humane Society will also be onsite, too. Activities included with museum admission.
- Social Justice Story Time with The Malcolm X Foundation is Feb. 14 at 9 a.m. at Urban Abbey. Another story time that weekend is Curious By Nature: Rooted In Reading Feb. 14 and 15 at 10 a.m. at Lauritzen Gardens’ Dan Torson Children’s Amphitheater, weather permitting. Free for members, or included with regular admission. While you’re at Lauritzen Gardens, you can look for the epically large trolls in the exhibit Thomas Dambo’s “TROLLS: Save the Humans.”
- Take the kids to see “Get Building! Bricks At The Durham” at The Durham Museum during regular museum hours. Or take them to Kiewit Luminarium to see the new exhibit, “Finding Titanic: The Secret Mission.”
