Highly Spirited In The Midwest is Oct. 9 and 30 at 9 p.m. at Joslyn Castle & Gardens, featuring presentations by local historians followed by an hour-long investigation in the castle. The third annual Costume Night at Cochran Park in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is Oct. 10. There will be free hamburgers, as well as vendors selling food. Activities include: Pumpkin painting, movie, light-up balloon animals, glow sports, Imagination Playground (big blue blocks), music, Council Bluffs Public Library Station, and prizes.
