Omaha Public Library is hosting a pirate treasure at the Sorensen branch! Come make a compass, learn about maps, and then use both to find treasure hidden around the library.  The is a free event for children ages 8-12. Registration is required and opens Sept. 15. Halloween Happenings at Schramm Park is Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Treehouse Classroom, featuring Halloween-themed activities and learning about why bats, spiders and owls. Free, but valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.
