Westchester Park
Description
I almost didn’t think Westchester park had a playground! It’s not immediately visible if you park in the main parking lot for the baseball fields. But they do, it’s tucked in the southeast corner.
It’s a mix of sand and rubber, and while it is pretty small, it’s also nice. Everything looks new. I think the highlight feature is the green plastic merry-go-round. I don’t see many of those in Omaha. The park has a couple of slides, as well as baby swings and traditional swings. There are a couple of benches around the playground.
There’s not much shade here.

Additional Info
- There are no discernible bathrooms. There’s a concession stand that might open seasonally and it might have bathrooms but they weren’t marked on any doors. I wouldn’t bet on them ever being open.
- The park is located near the West Papio Trail, so it is also a good spot to hop on a bike and take a ride.
- The park is in a mostly residential area, but there's a nearby gas station, for treats, as well as Buffalo Wild Wings to the north, and local restaurants like Corner Kick and Sgt. Peffer’s Cafe to the south.
