Susan Picotte Park
Description
Susan Picotte Park has many different play structures, and they are all in pretty good shape. It’s a mix of sand and rubber floor covering. With the extra areas for basketball, soccer, and softball, this is one of the biggest parks I have been to. There is a ton of space to hang out and let the kids run and get their energy out.
This park has swings for both big kids and babies, and there is also a separate area just for smaller children. The toddler area includes swings, a smaller play structure with a couple of slides, climbing space, and a very cute little table inside a playhouse with windows. Definitely bring your sand toys, because there is a lot of sand here. Kids will have so much fun playing kitchen or restaurant in the little playhouse with the table inside.
One thing that really stands out at this park is the large metal wavy rock wall. Both of the kids I was with thought it would be blazing hot, but it was actually just warm to the touch, which was a nice surprise. I love the challenge the wavy rock wall gives older kids.
The main play structure has a few slides, a chain climbing ladder, and plenty of room for kids to run around and play. The extra space at this park is enormous! There is a huge soccer field, a basketball court with two hoops, and a field with a backstop where you could easily set up a game of softball, baseball, or kickball.
This park has a large shade shelter with tables available. It also has places underneath play structure to get a break from the sun.
