Johns-Bohn Park
Description
Johns-Bohn Park’s playground is a mix of old and new-ish equipment. Overall, it’s a pretty good park that delivers a dose of nostalgia. It’s a fairly well-shaded playground. I like how near the large pavilion is to the playground. It covers several picnic tables and keeps you close to the action.
The main equipment is the “new” stuff in at the playground, with several slides, including racer slides. It has a fish-shaped tunnel, and there’s a small climbing wall. There’s also a jungle gym, several cute bouncers and swing set with two baby swings and two traditional swings. The teeter totters and marry-go-round have chipped paint but are in decent condition still. There’s also a sandy area around two diggers. That’s the only sandy area, though; the rest of the playground is grass or wood-chips.
NOTE: As of late June 2026, when this post was updated, there was street construction near the park, making access difficult (or impossible) if you’re coming from the east.
