Gretna Crossing Park
Description
Gretna Crossing Park has three playgrounds to choose from.
Playground #1 nearest the soccer fields: A modern, bright play structure with two smaller curvy slides, one tall straight slide, a medium-sized straight slide and a large curvy slide. Lots of climbing features including ropes, rock wall, metal beams, and more. A merry-go-round and one spinner aside from the main play structure. A maze and head cutout to pose for a picture. Accessible kids’ tables. A good mix of little and big kid play equipment.
Playground #2 nearest the water park: Many more climbing features, ropes, sensory/imaginary play activities (rain noisemaker, drum, math activity board, pretend store front), tunnel (that may also count as a slide!), monkey bars, two large curvy slides and a 2×2 slide. Lots of shade built into this bright and colorful playground. This play structure is taller so it may be less suitable for younger children, but there are still a lot of accessible sensory/pretend play features here that would be appealing to the little ones (and are closer to the padded ground!).
Playground #3 nearest the baseball fields: Part wood chips and part rubber padding. This playground is soccer-themed with a modern blue, green, red, grey color scheme. There’s a face cutout for a picture opportunity, many activity boards including puzzle boards, ABC & number boards, a maze and games. More ropes and other metal climbing features, two spinners, a tube slide, larger 2×2 slides, large curved slide, tunnel, smaller 2×2 slides, and another small slide. A musical feature with drums and pipes. This playground has a good mix for various ages with a smaller play structure and larger play structure (plus so many interactive features!).
Between the three playgrounds there are definitely some accessible options including musical features, some wide platforms onto play equipment, some tables that could allow a wheelchair to access, maze and other activity boards, pretend play features like the store front, rain maker, and drums.
There is shade underneath play equipment (especially in the playground closest to water park), but not any mature trees for shade in the area. Tons of picnic tables throughout the park are under awnings and/or pavilions.
