Grass Patch
Description
The Grass Patch is a free public play space on the grounds of Omaha Children’s Museum. In an area of the city not known for green spaces, it’s been a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. The playground is in a fenced-in grassy area between the parking lots.
Like the museum itself, it’s designed for kids about ages 8 and under. The playground equipment is set over a wood chipped spot in the grass. There are a couple slides, some fake logs to climb and practice balancing, and some space to run. It’s all brightly-colored. There are a few benches.
Important Information
Additional Info
- It's not super shaded, though there are some coverings to provide some shade.
- It's open from sunrise to sunset.
- There are no public restrooms, though most likely, the museum's front desk staff will let you use the bathrooms in the museum when it comes to emergencies.
- There aren't any restaurants or places for treats within walking distance of the museum. I recommend driving east on St. Mary Avenue (it turns into Howard Street) to find a place to eat in the Old Market. For ice cream, look to Ted & Wally's. For sweets, go to Hollywood Candy.
