Fontenelle Park

There are some parts of this playground that aren’t designed for really little kids. The playground has a slide, but it is very high up. The height of the slide makes my 3-year-old nervous to go down. The equipment is guaged to older children rather than toddlers as there are a lot of steps.

I also do not like how the playground is built on the side of a hill so there is a good two-foot ledge from the edge of the playground to the sidewalk on the parking lot. I constantly felt nervous my son would slip on the sand and off the ledge. I do enjoy the playground and the spray pad being so close to each other so if my child wanted to go between he easily could.

There isn’t much shade for the playground. There is an awning over some benches but it has holes in it and does not cover much. The sprayground does have some shade from trees.

The park includes some paved walking trails and a pond for fishing. There annual Community Fishing Nights held there.
