Dom’s Park
Description
Dom’s Park is a fairly new playground in the Omaha Metro, located inside Chalco Hills Recreation Area. The playground opened in 2021, and still retains a bright, new appearance. The playground is in a word…awesome. Inspired a boy who passed away at the age of 4, the playground has features that any young kid would love. It’s car-themed with pretend areas to fill up a car, a little track to drive around, and equipment that keeps with the theme.
There are several slides, both for big kids and littles, as well as climbing areas and swings. The playground even has a music-making station with metal xylophones and plastic drums. The ground is nearly all rubber (there’s a separate play area nearby that does have sand).
The playground itself isn’t shaded, though there are some tall trees that may help block the sun depending on the time of day. There is, however, several picnic tables covered by a pavilion.

- There are bathrooms located right by the playground.
- There's a small parking lot near the playground.
- Werhspann Lake is located in Chalco Hills, and is worth checking out with kids. There are paved trails throughout that I like for bike rides.
- Chalco also has a dog park. It's not fenced in, though.
