Clarkson Park
Description
Clarkson Park is a small neighborhood park with a few unique features that make it just interesting enough to remember. I’ll get to those features in a second. There are two sets of playground equipment, one for toddlers and one for big kids. Both have rubber covering on the ground. The smaller of the two areas is for the young kids, and it looks newer and brighter than the big kid’s area. For the little ones, there’s a tiny slide, short steps, and a colorful spinner on one wall.
The big kid’s area has racer slides and a curved slide, plus several climbing/ladder elements. There’s a small bridge to run across.
There are a few swings, including traditional and one accessible swing. There’s also a rare two-person Konnection Swing, designed for an adult or older child to swing with a young child face-to-face.
What I liked about this small park is that it reflects the neighborhood, in that it has recycling bins, a covered picnic area with solar-powered lighting, and the coolest-looking Little Free Library I’ve come across in years.
Important Information
Additional Info
- Free street parking.
- For really good ice cream, Clarkson Park is not far from Coneflower Creamery in the Blackstone District.
- It's also near a Wendy’s, in case you're craving a frosty, and it's within driving distance from a McDonald’s and a gas station. (Still, the Coneflower Creamery is the place to go in that part of the city!).
