I love hearing on the news an announcement of an airline adding a non-stop flights from Omaha. I try to avoid layovers when traveling with the kids. I’ll gladly pay more for a direct flight. It’s great just to bring a carry-on and be on your way as soon as you land.

Pack a carry-on with the essentials and you’re good — just don’t bring more than you’re supposed to! Be sure you know how much liquid can you take on a plane, for instance. Carry-ons should be able to carry all the clothes and toiletries you need. Some airlines will allow a second bag, like a purse or backpack, where you can hold your magazines, laptop, or headphones for airplanes.
