Peterson Park (Council Bluffs)

The Peterson Park playground has a lot of great features for a variety of ages. I like the rubbed padding on the ground and some of the accessibility features. The picnic shelter is nice for shade and enjoying lunch/snacks, and it’s convenient to have restrooms nearby if needed.

The equipment includes two slides: One racer slide that curves toward the bottom, and one larger, slightly-curved slide. There is a swing set that includes traditional swings, a baby swing, and an accessible swing. The park has some unique climbing features, such as a small rock climbing wall, bridges, and ropes. The condition of the equipment looks new and clean.

The playground has rubber padding for flooring, making it easier for mobility. It’s not fully-accessible, but does have some features like an accessible swing. 

The playground equipment is not covered by shade. However, there is some shade under the playground equipment, and here are also two pavilions/picnic shelters with shade.
