Platte River State Park Playground
Description
Platte River State Parks tends to get fewer visitors than the nearby Mahoney State Park, but that just means fewer crowds to interrupt your visit. The main playground at the park is phenomenal and wonderfully maintained. It has very unique treehouse-type structures that have rope ladders, walkways, and a swirly slide. There are also saucer swings right by it.
There are a couple different play areas at the park, each with a variety of sand, rubber covering, and wood chips underneath the play equipment. I say equipment, but it’s not like traditional playgrounds. The play and climbing structures are shaped like items found in a forest or like animals. There are a lot of spaces to crawl through, climb over, and balance on. There’s also a kid-sized set of ziplines at the playground.
