Description

Roxbury Park is a great spot with plenty of variety to keep kids busy! The playground features a large main structure with a twisty tunnel slide and two double slides that are perfect for racing friends. Active kids will love the corkscrew fireman’s pole and multiple climbing options, while the built-in steering wheels are a hit for imaginative play. Trees and a nice pavilion, as well as underneath the play structure will provide shade here.

Just a heads-up for parents of toddlers: There are plenty of “big kid” swings (though one was recently broken), but no bucket-style baby swings available. Aside from that one swing, the equipment is in good shape and ready for play.

There are not a lot of accessibility features. Just some flat surfaces that are good for wheelchairs. It’s a mix of sand and rubber padding for ground cover, so other than the flat rubber surfaces, nothing is accessible.

Overall, Roxbury Park is a lovely spot for a playdate. The expansive play structures offer a great variety of activities, from twisty and racing slides to a corkscrew fireman’s pole and imaginative “driving” stations. One of the best features is the ample shade provided by mature trees, the play equipment itself, and a dedicated shelter. While the restroom facilities are limited to a portable unit near the baseball field, it’s a helpful “emergency” option to have.

Just a heads-up: Its proximity to Q Street makes it a bit noisy, but the play value makes it worth the visit!
