Monarch Place
Description
This park has a lot to offer (as far as play equipment open space), and is in a beautiful neighborhood. As of May 2026, there is construction nearby and parking isn’t ideal (extremely limited because it is already street-parking only, but there were a lot of cars parked although we were the only ones in the actual park). This, combined with no restrooms, makes me hesitant to recommend this park until construction ends.
The park includes a playground, pavilion, backstop, and basketball court. The playground equipment is in great condition and the park itself seems well taken care of. There is one main playground structure, surrounded by various pieces and swings. The swingset includes one inclusive swing, one baby swing, and two traditional swings. There are two slides (one straight and one curved) and many different climbing apparatus’ (a Linx Levitate Climber, monkey bars, a tree branch ladder, a ring ladder, and an overhead rope climber). There is one small interactive activity board. Surrounding the playground is a globe spinning climber, a petal spinner, and a standing spinner.
It’s not a highly-accessible playground, save for one activity board near the ground and one inclusive swing.
The playground itself doesn’t have any shade/coverings. The only shade comes from the pavilion, which provides four picnic tables.
