I’ll be the first to say I had no business being at a car show. I never took an interest in cars, never have been particularly tidy with any that I’ve owned.
Yet, there I was, enjoying myself at the Midtown Car Show this summer. My kids and husband did too.
The two rugrats didn’t grasp the impressive restoration work on some of the classic cars – they refer to everything that happened in the past as “the other day.” But, the bright colors and sheer variety held their interest.
The car show is held three times in the summer and early fall, and the final one is this Sunday at Midtown Crossing (about 31st and Farnam streets) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
I’d recommend it for a FREE family outing that’s a little different than the usual, at least for my family.
The more knowledgeable car people walking around asked smart questions to proud car owners.
Not me.
I snapped silly pictures of my kids dancing to the fun ‘50s and ‘60s music.
And that’s OK.
Everyone had fun.
Your turn: Have you taken your kid to a car show before? Which one?
