“We Regret To Inform You…” is a group exhibition at the Radial Arts Center. The guest curators, Mary Ensz and Sheree Le’Shawn, use a singularly devastating sentence as a conceptual point of departure: We Regret to Inform You… The exhibit is open from Sept. 6-27, 2024. The opening reception is Sept. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m.
“We Regret To Inform You…” An Exhibition of Rejected Art features a collection of work by artists that have previously been rejected or is representative of rejection. The phrase “We regret to inform you” is often seen as a polite phrase to deliver bad news that is known by dejected applicants everywhere. While this collection of artwork may have been informed by rejection, it is not bound by it. Rather, “We Regret To Inform You…” prompts a conversation around obstacles encountered and ways of overcoming them. It is a community space to include the excluded and hold our feelings around rejection together.
