Scoring Malcolm X Q & A With Terrance Blanchard

In celebration of Malcolm X’s centennial in partnership with the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation, there will be a Q&A interview with NEA Jazz Master, two-time Emmy® and Oscar® nominee, and eight-time Grammy® winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard. Blanchard will talk about his Malcolm X Jazz Suite; created for Spike Lee’s 1992 film “Malcolm X” about the human rights and civil rights icon, for which Blanchard wrote and performed the score.

Blanchard will also perform his Malcolm X Jazz Suite live on Saturday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Holland Center.  

Cost is pay-what-you-can.
