POW/MIA Memorial Ceremony

The City of Omaha Parks & Recreation Department, in partnership with local veteran and military organizations, will host a POW/MIA Memorial Ceremony in conjunction with the dedication of the Blue Star Memorial on Sept. 19 at Memorial Park. The event will honor and remember all U.S. military service members who were prisoners of war or are still missing in action, while also dedicating a new marker to recognize all past, present, and future armed forces personnel.
The ceremony will feature remarks from distinguished guests, including Mayor John Ewing Jr., the Honorable Hal Daub, LTC (Ret.), Mary Carlson, and keynote speaker Dr. Traci Van Deest. Following the ceremony, attendees are encouraged to walk to the new Blue Star Memorial to honor and recognize the generous donors who made this important addition possible.
