“Omaha’s Green Book Sites”

April 30 @ 5:00 pm 8:00 pm

The Durham’s “Speaker & Art Series: Omaha’s Green Book Sites” features Eric Ewing, Kristine Gerber and Jewel Rodgers. The discussion discusses this history of Omaha’s 31 Omaha sites, which were published throughout the Green Book’s run from 1936-1967. Social Hour and Exhibit Viewing runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with the presentation starting at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free for museum members; regular-admission rates for non-members.

The fourth and final Speaker & Art Series event takes a closer look at the impact Omaha and Victor Green’s publication had on each other. Watch a presentation led by Ewing, executive director of the Great Plains Black History Museum, and Gerber, journalist, educator and author. Then, enjoy performances by North Omaha Music & Arts and Jewel Rodgers, the 2025-29 Nebraska State Poet and a 2025 Academy of American Poets Fellowship recipient.
