Omaha Refugee Week

Omaha Refugee Week runs June 15-21. The week-long festival honoring the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees in the community. The week will feature live performances, talks and panels, film screenings, and art exhibitions.
Scheduled events:
- June 15 – “Artists in Exile” Opening Reception from 6 to 9 p.m. at Radial Arts Center
- June 16 – Urban Abbey is hosting a book discussion of “The Ungrateful Refugee” at 6:30 p.m.
- June 17 – Yates Game Club: Potluck Meal & Games from Around the World at Yates Illuminates from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
- June 18 – Art Walk: Short Films & Refugee Art at Joslyn Castle from 5 to 8 p.m.
- June 19 – Alexandra Cardon, Samuel Bak Museum: The Learning Center Chief Curator, will present a 30-minute lecture on themes of forced migration in Samuel Bak’s paintings at 3 p.m.
- June 19 – Free Screening of “The Story Won’t Die” at Benson Theatre at 7 p.m.
- June 20 – World Refugee Day at Joslyn Art Museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- June 21 – Lives Radio Show on KIOS 91.5 FM at 9 a.m.
- June 21 – Storytelling & Belonging panel at UNO’s Community Engagement Center Room 230/231 at 2 p.m.
- June 21 – “Artists in Exile” Closing Reception at Radial Arts Center from 6 to 9 p.m.
