Martin Luther King Jr. Day At Durham Museum
January 19 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Durham Museum celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day by offering free admission, as well as:
- Special appearance by Mayor John Ewing
- Children’s book readings with Preston Love Jr and Dr. Amy Forss
- Musical performance by Nelson Mandela Elementary Orchestra
- Screenings of MLK’s “I Have a Dream” Speech and PBS docuseries “Eyes on the Prize”
- An MLK-inspired scavenger hunt
- Community partners present include Great Plains Black History Museum, The Union for Contemporary Art, Malcolm X Memorial Foundation, North Omaha Music and Arts – NOMA and Nebraska Writers Collective (including poet reading by “Z Rise” Zariah Champlin).
