Let’s Explore Pond Life

The program will teach you the basics of pond dip-netting, used to capture aquatic macroinvertebrates. Fontenelle Forest’s naturalist guide and volunteer biologist will lead you on an easy to moderate hike down to Child’s Hollow Pond. There, they will teach you the practice of dip-netting and help you to identify the aquatic macroinvertebrates that you catch. Please dress according to the weather. Wear bug spray, good hiking footwear, and bring a full water bottle.

Program is designed for ages 12+. Cost is $10 for members and $18 for non-members. Meet at the main nature center.
