Juneteenth SteamPunk Events

The House of Afros, Capes & Curls’s SteamPunk Events is a two-day celebration with events for all ages. The theme is “Timekeepers of Timbuktu,” honoring the legendary city of scholars and inventors, envisioning a world where African brilliance powers the engines of time.
Schedule:
June 13 – Juneteenth STEAM-Punk Freedom Lab & Family Day, a hands-on, all-ages experience exploring freedom through creativity, science, and storytelling. Runs from noon to 3 p.m. at Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center, 6001 Dodge St.
June 13 – 21+ SteamPunk Vaudeville Show + Vendor Market featuring nationally recognized and local artists, handcrafted goods, and the first chapter of the Timekeepers story. Runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at Church Art House, 3101 S. 20th St.
June 14 – VIP Soirée & Dinner, featuring a three-course experience by Chef Djamil Bah-Traore of House of Bah, and the Grand Steampunk Ball, an evening of live music, dancing, immersive storytelling, portraits, and a vibrant costume parade. Dinner is from 6 to 8 p.m. and ball is from 8 to 11 p.m. at Bohemian Gardens, 1424 S. 13th St.
