Inside The Jury Room: Choosing Public Art

“Inside The Jury Room” is the opening night event unveiling of the newest sculptures in The RiverFront Sculpture Garden, featuring an engaging panel discussion that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the public art selection process. The program features a diverse group of jurors – artists, curators, and civic leaders – who were tasked with reviewing proposals and selecting artworks for The RiverFront Sculpture Garden. Panelists are ISC Executive Director Johannah Hutchison, artist and juror Norie Sato, and artist and juror John Clement. The moderator is Jeff Koterba
Panelists will share their experiences and insights into the selection criteria, deliberation process, and the challenges and rewards of making decisions that reflect the values and identity of a community. Discover how artistic merit, site context, and cultural relevance all contribute to shaping the final selections.
