Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrates the history and heritage of Omaha’s First Nations People. The free community event will feature traditional dancing performed by the White Eagle Club Dancers of the Omaha Nation Public School, followed by a shared traditional meal of soup and frybread prepared by members of the tribe. Bring chairs and blankets.
White Eagle Club sponsors are Dustin Lovejoy, Donelle Lovejoy, and Libby Webster. Indigenous Peoples’ Day is presented in partnership with The Omaha Nation, Unceded Artist Collective, the Dr. Susan La Flesche Picotte Center, the Nebraska Extension, and Joslyn Castle & Gardens.
