“Dance Nation” is staged at BLUEBARN Theatre from May 25 through June 25. The original Steppenwolf set design for “Dance Nation” has been leased from Arnulfo Maldonado with his permission to adjust it to the BLUEBARN stage as needed.
Synopsis: Somewhere in America, an army of pre-teen competitive dancers plots to take over the world. And if their new routine is good enough, they’ll claw their way to the top at the Boogie Crown Grand Prix Finals in Tampa Bay. A 2019 Pulitzer Prize finalist for drama, “Dance Nation” is a stark, unrelenting exploration of female power featuring a multigenerational cast of women portraying our 13-year-old heroines.
Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, June 4 & 11 at 6 p.m.; and Sunday, June 18, at 2 p.m.
Note: ASL Performance is June 1.
