The 15th annual Art & Literary Festival is Nov. 15-17, highlighting Willa Cather with dramatic readings, lectures, and exhibitions, spanning three days, multiple venues, and two cities. In addition to dramatic readings, the community is invited to attend scholarly lectures, an exhibition, tastings, and more over the course of the three-day festival.
Events in Omaha include:
- Nov. 15 – Festival Opening Reception at Joslyn Castle & Gardens, stars at 5 p.m. with an interactive talk about prairie fashions during the time of Willa Cather by fashion historian Sue McLain. From 6 to 7 p.m., enjoy live folk music, exhibits, prairie food tasting, and the Omaha Public Library Pop Up Library Truck. FREE
- Nov. 15 & 17 – “One of Ours” Dramatic Readings at Joslyn Castle & Gardens, both starting at 7:30 p.m. After the dramatic readings, attendees are invited to stay after for a talk-back conversation with the cast and crew of “One of Ours.” Tickets are $20, or free for students.
- Nov. 17 – Lecture about “One of Ours” from noted Cather scholar Dr. Charles Johanningsmeier at 6 p.m. in the historic Joslyn Castle Music Room. FREE
