Nature At Nightfall
August 7 @ 6:00 pm – 10:30 pm
Nature At Nightfall is Aug. 7 at Platte River State Park with most activities located around the nature center/tennis courts/ball field area.
Schedule of events:
- Nature Center special hours- 6-9PM
- Crawdad Creek- 6-8PM
- Canoe/Kayaking- 5-8PM
- Live Reptiles & Amphibians- 6-8:30PM
- Guided Dusk to Nightfall Hikes- 7-8:30PM (Hiking groups will leave at 7, 7:30, and 8pm)
- Moth Lighting (UNL Extension)- 9-10:30PM
- Bat Mist Netting (located at the stables)- 9-10:30PM
- Astronomy (Branched Oak Observatory)- 9-10:30PM (15-20 minute presentation in Mallet Lodge followed by star gazing)
- Concessions will be available at the Marina until 8PM (hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, drinks, etc.)
- The Walter Scott Jr. Lodge Restaurant’s Pizza Buffet will be open from 4-8pm
