Making History, Making Change: Talking Great Plains with the Smithsonian

Explore the powerful role science plays in shaping the future of the American Great Plains. Spanning expansive grasslands, winding rivers and vital wildlife habitats, the Smithsonian’s Great Plains Science Program pairs cutting-edge technology with on-the-ground expertise to confront the region’s most pressing environmental issues while supporting thriving communities.

Dr. Sarah Carroll, Director of the Great Plains Science Program, will share how this place-based research turns discovery into action — supporting conservation, inspiring innovation and advancing the Institution’s commitment to putting science to work for both people and the planet.

The night starts with a social hour from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with the presentation starting at 6:30. Cash bar and snacks available for purchase. The event is is free for members and included with regular admission for non-members.
