Stargazing at Neale Woods

Can you find Orion in the night sky? What about Taurus? Perseus? Forget the Big Dipper and head out to Neale Woods to enjoy some January constellations during a night of stargazing.
This Fontenelle Forest event will begin with a brief evening hike on dirt-packed trails through the prairie and forest as conditions allow. Then as night falls, watch for stars together while learning about seasonal constellations and general astronomy from seasoned volunteer, Bob Fuchs.
Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather, wear good walking shoes, and bring a water bottle. Bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on while stargazing and be ready to hike a short distance on easy to moderate terrain with your chair to the stargazing area.
