Battle Of Puebla Commemorative Ceremony

FreeThe South Omaha Museum of Immigrant History, will commemorate the Battle of Puebla, won by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín, on May 5, 1862, over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Honors will be bestowed on the Fr. Flanagan Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Omaha, the Omaha Chapter of the American G.I. Forum, and a distinguished personage.
Museum Director Jose’ F. Garcia will give a talk on the history of events leading to Gen. Zaragoza’s Victory. In attendance will be Omaha’s Mexican Consulate, proclamations from the City of Omaha, Douglas County Commission, Nebraska Latino American Commission, and other civic and community leaders will be announced.
Free and open to the public. Event will be held on the second floor of Center Mall.
