Holiday Lights Festival

Omaha’s Holiday Lights Festival runs runs from Nov. 28 through Jan. 1, featuring light displays and free events. Events include:
- Lighting Ceremony – Nov. 28 at Gene Leahy Mall at The RiverFront. Music starts at 5 p.m. and the ceremony is at 6 p.m. Mayor John W. Ewing Jr. and emcee Sadie Grey from STAR 104.5 will lead the community in a countdown to the start of the holiday season.
- KETV Family Festival – Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at participating downtown venues (Omaha Police Mounted Patrol Barn, The Durham Museum, Omaha Children’s Museum, Omaha Public Library – Downtown Branch, Heartland of America Park at The RiverFront, and Joslyn Art Museum). Admission is free at the venues. Ollie the Trolley and charter buses will be providing free transportation between all the venues.
- New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular – Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. Best viewing is at The RiverFront and the Old Market.
Light displays are at:
- Old Market – 10th Street to 13th Street, Farnam Street to Jackson Street
- North Omaha – North 24th Street, from Burdette Street to Ohio Street
- South Omaha – South 24th Street, from L Street to Q Street
- The RiverFront – From 13th Street on the west end, throughout Gene Leahy Mall, Heartland of America Park and over into Lewis & Clark Landing
