Gouge A Gourd activities will be held on Oct. 21 & 28 from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and Oct. 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Mahoney State Park. Learn how to use the primitive spear throwing device called an atlatl and throw it at pumpkins. Activity is held behind the Bur Oak Shelter. It’s free and open to anyone age 6 or older.

A valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.
