“Día De Muertos” Exhibit

El Museo Latino will have the “Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead” exhibit on display from Oct. 11 through Nov. 15. Combining elements from indigenous Aztec and Christian traditions, the Day of the Dead remembers our departed loved ones through the “ofrenda” (offering) that may include flowers, candles, incense, candy, favorite foods, and special bread called “Pan de Muertos.”
Special events:
- Gallery Talk with Sarah Banderas Martinez on Oct. 25 at 1:15 p.m.
- “Tradition of Day of the Dead” Skull Painting Workshops on Nov. 1 and 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 1. Advance registration required.
- Public Tours are Oct. 18 at 1:15 p.m. (in English) and Nov. 8 at 1:15 p.m. (in Spanish)
Exhibit and programs are sponsored in part by the Humanities Nebraska, Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and Douglas County. Included with museum admission.
