Community Fishing Night

July 29, 2025 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Nebraska Game & Parks will host free Community Fishing Nights around the Omaha Metro. Look for the Family Fishing Trailer, where loaner rods and reels, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants. Fishing Instructors are also available to provide helpful tips and answer questions. This is the perfect opportunity for people of all ages who have never been fishing or haven’t fished for years to learn.

All participants ages 16 and older need a fishing license. A valid state park entry permit is also required for events at state park areas. 

Schedule:

  • June 25 – Fontenelle Park Pond in Omaha
  • July 8 – Halleck Lake in Papillion
  • July 16 – Prairie Queen Lake in Papillion
  • July 22 – Kramer Lake in Bellevue (this is a Discover Bow Fishing event)
  • July 29 – Halleck Lake in Papillion
  • Aug. 13 – Fontenelle Park Pond in Omaha
