Love

The Kiewit Luminarium presents “Love” Feb. 5-23, engaging all five senses and exploring the many facets of love. From biology to culture and even culinary arts, the understanding and appreciation of love is informed by many disciplines. What is love, exactly? Are our definitions of it shaped by our unique cultures and backgrounds? How do words of care and affirmation affect the neuroplasticity in the brain?  What about the birds and the bees? Literally! How do animals create community through surprising methods of communication?

It’s included with museum admission.

• Feb. 8 – Chocolate Screen Printing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Feb. 8 & 9 – “Love & Chocolate: A Sonic Seasoning Experience” from noon to 1 p.m.
• Feb. 13 – Love Night Light (ages 18+) from 7 to 10 p.m.
• Feb. 15 – “Find the Queen” with the UNL Bee Lab from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Feb. 15 – Rose Dissection from noon to 1 p.m.
• Feb. 16 – Family-Fun with the Great Backyard Bird Count from noon to 2 p.m.
• Feb. 22 – Strawberry DNA Exploration
