Pollinator Party

Celebrate Nebraska pollinators at the Schramm Pollinator Party! The Schramm Education Center will be hosting a Pollinator Party event in partnership with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Bee Lab, Nebraska Extension, the UNL Entomology Department, and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. This free, annual event is part of a statewide celebration of Nebraska Pollinator Week. Activities for all ages will be set up outside and in the Schramm Education Center Classroom. At this event, you can:

•  See live honey bees, bumble bees, monarch butterflies in different life stages, and other live insects
• Help collect and document insects on the Schramm prairie and pollinator gardens using the iNaturalist app to contribute to the Biodiversity in State Parks project
• Buy native plants at a plant sale hosted by the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum
• Learn about how art and science work together from the Great Plains Chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators
• Make pollinator crafts and play pollinator games
• Extract and bottle your own honey for purchase
• Meet a Nebraska Extension Master Gardener and Nebraska Extension Entomologist to get your garden and urban entomology questions answered
• Make a native seed ball to take home
• Participate in a pollinator art scavenger hunt
• Food will be available for purchase
