DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in an exciting day of inspiration\, unity and self-discovery at Omaha Conservatory of Music’s Music & Wellness Winter Festival. Registration is $15 and includes all sessions. \nWorkshops include: \n\nPresentations by Not Kageyama\, The Bulletproof Musician: Nationally known\, The Bulletproof Musician specializes in teaching performing artists how to utilize sports psychology principles to more consistently demonstrate their full abilities under pressure. Kageyama has been featured in The Wall Street Journal\, Musical America\, Strings Magazine\, Strad\, and Lifehacker. Kageyama will hold two presentations during the festival:\n\nBulletproof Musician — Becoming More Pressure Proof for Students and Families: Elite athletes have known for decades that physical preparation alone is not enough to perform optimally under pressure. And increasingly\, musicians too are engaging in more mental skills training – ways of practicing and preparing which can lead to more consistent\, inspired\, and engaged performances. In this session\, we’ll explore the two causes of “choking” under pressure\, and two ways to prevent this from happening – a sound-based technique and an improvisation-based technique. This session is recommended for high school\, middle school\, and upper elementary students. We will discover ways every voice can access their resonance and feel more connected to their body. No previous singing experience necessary! All ages welcome.\nOmaha Integrative Care Sound Bath: Come FEEL the music in this vibrational sound bath using the Nepalese Sacred Metal Bowls and Gong. Nepalese sound healing is traditionally done on or near the body as the vibrations from the bowls and Gongs are said to hold immense healing potential. Drop out of the mind and into the body with this ancient vibrational style of sound healing. Session is open to all ages.
