SUMMARY:Juneteenth Flag Raising And Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Omaha Public Library and Juneteenth Nebraska\, Inc. will host the annual flag raising and luncheon honoring local veterans and military personnel on June 1 at the Washington Branch. The program will include a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation\, a performance of Lift Every Voice and Sing\, the raising of the Juneteenth flag\, a presentation of honorary quilts to veterans and service members\, and the passing of the community service and leadership lantern. \nThe library will also have the 2024 UNO Black Studies Traveling Exhibit on display inside.
