The fun folks at Amazing Pizza Machine invited me to visit last Friday night. I took the opportunity as a chance to hang out with two of my nieces who used to come with me to a lot of shows before my two kids came along.
I met up with my nieces and two of their friends at 7:30 p.m. to take advantage of the Night Games promotion. This summer promotion on Friday nights gets you unlimited rides, unlimited buffet and drinks and a $10 game card for $23.99. It makes for a fun night!
What to expect
You’ll find all ages at Amazing Pizza Machine, though on a Friday night, you’ll find it skewing toward to the teenage demographic with the Top 40 hits playing throughout the venue courtesy of 96.1 KISS FM. It’s loud, but don’t complain about it or your nieces will give you the eye roll.
Montez, one of the station’s DJs, is there every Friday night. The four girls were thrilled to be on air with Montez, so if you want your 15 seconds of fame, stop by and say hi to him.

With the Night Games wristband, you have unlimited access to all rides and laser tag. Laser tag is very popular, so head over there first and get your group signed up for a time right away (though, we went over there later in the night and only had 30 minutes to wait).
These four smiling preteens have no idea what’s in store for them. They have no idea how competitive I am.
Show no mercy in laser tag if you’re chaperoning a bunch of preteens or teens. They’re ruthless.
If you’re going to talk a big game in laser tag, be prepared to back it up. Hawk in the house.
Food and drink
We visited the buffet twice on Friday since a couple of the girls hadn’t had dinner yet. First trip involved the salad bar, pizza bar, some frozen drinks and soft serve ice cream.

We capped our night with a trip to the dessert bar. Cookies, brownies, a couple different dessert pizzas and other sugary treats. Because I am that aunt who will send nieces home hopped up on sugar (it’s payback since their parents love to do the same with my kids).
Would you like some chocolate drizzled on that? How about a side of Red Bull? Your mom said it was OK.
There are three public dining spots to choose from. Since I was with a bunch of softball players, we headed to the sports themed room. There’s also a cartoon room my kids would love, and a nifty looking room that has a 50s kind of theme going.
For the 21 and older crowd, particularly those who are no longer cool enough to hang with their teenaged family members, you’ll be happy to know there is bar with reasonably priced drinks.
You can’t take any food or drink into the game area.
What the girls thought
Post-game dessert and chat with the girls. Night Games was a hit with them.
I knew it was a good night when they begged to stay longer than I’d told their parents we would.
I interrogated the girls over dessert, and all of them wanted to come back.
I’ll speak for them and say I’m the coolest aunt ever.
