I’m all for supporting brick and mortar stores of local businesses but sometimes, you just don’t want to get out of your pajamas. If that’s the case for you, shopping online is the best. Luckily, there are Omaha makers selling their goods online.
Keep scrolling to see the variety of things made here in Omaha!

Omaha has a lot of creative makers when it comes to jewelry. Find statement earrings, pretty necklaces, stylish masks, and more in this category.
East Parlor

I had the great opportunity to interview Sarah for a story a few years ago and she’s a marvel. She hand weaves gorgeous, home goods and scarves using sustainable materials for her business, East Parlor.
You’ll want to buy one of everything, and you’ll feel good about it.
Rachel O’s Fabulous Whimsy
It’s hard to pick one thing I love in this shop: Colorful earrings, whimsical faux taxidermy, and wall signs. It’s all cute.

She’s most known for her earrings on Fabulous Whimsy, but I can’t get over how cute her “taxidermy” is. I first saw her jackalopes at a Bench Made Trunk Show.
More makers of cute accessories, jewelry, etc.:

This is also the category that I think has the funniest stuff, so if you have a sense of humor, you’ll likely find something to make you smile among the shops below:
Home decor
The Omaha artisans and makers in this category work with everything from fibers to wood to cement. And they’re all creating things that will look good in a home.

John and Sarah make gorgeous, hardwood home goods. I’m kicking myself for not finding Upton Rustics sooner because I wanted a coat rack just like this one. I may just get one of their benches, though.
Consider Concrete

I never thought concrete could look this lovely, but Consider Concrete makes a pretty strong case. Christian makes concrete planters, bookends, and functional home decor.

Where can I find more Omaha makers online?
When I made this list, I did not mean to overlook the literal hundreds of other makers in the Omaha metro area. Some makers don’t necessarily have an online store of their own, but you can find them in local collectives. Sometimes they’ll have in-person open houses, but currently, most will be online:
Omaha Art Collectives Online
Bench – Located just north of downtown Omaha, Bench is a co-work space for makers and builders. If you’re looking for handmade furniture, definitely check here.
Known for their great in-person trunk shows, due to the pandemic, the collective held their last event online. Time will tell if the next one will be virtual or in person.
Hot Shops Art Center – I miss Hot Shops’ annual open houses. The building has several floors of artist studios and it’s the best time to see their work and meet the artists. And the winter one is prime holiday shopping.
If you want an online option, head to the artists page on the website. Click on a bio to see if the artist has an online shop – several do!
Made in Omaha – I love shopping Made In Omaha in-person (now with a location in Countryside Village AND the Old Market). Luckily, you can shop for all of the awesome items online.
