Oakland Junkapalooza

The Nishna Heritage Museum will be hosting Oakland Junkapalooza 2014 on Sept. 13 and 14. It is a flea-market-type festival featuring random vintage items, antiques, repurposed stuff, or crafts and goods made with a vintage-feel or from vintage products. The timing can’t be better for Christmas shopping, though a lot of you probably just want to redecorate your own homes with some cool new finds.

While you shop, there will be local musicians performing, plus you can grab some food while you’re there from food vendors. Balloons will be handed out to children.

You can make a day of it in southwest Iowa and hit the huge annual Walnut Antique Fall Festival in Walnut, Iowa. It’s held that weekend, too!

Oooh, I love these types of events. If I went to Junkapalooza, I would likely get some furniture pieces, even though my husband probably wouldn't let that happen.
