This gathering place gives families a place to relax\, warm up\, play games\, and enjoy the winter weather. SUMMARY:Christmas Bird Count For Kids
DESCRIPTION:Learn more about the birds that call Schramm home during the winter while participating in the longest-running community science project in the country. During the event\, participants can choose to help count birds on a hike in the prairie or on a hike down to the Platte River. During the count\, everyone will record the number and type of birds seen. After we count\, return to the Schramm Classroom to tally results and make bird crafts.  \n\n\n\nEvent is rain\, snow or sunshine\, so dress prepared for the weather! A limited number of binoculars will be provided. \n\n\n\nThe cost to participate is $5 per person (ages 3 and under free). The cost includes the program and admission to the Education Center after the program. Schramm Family Pass Members participate free. A state park vehicle permit is not required in the Schramm Education Center parking lot.

Performed by brothers Billy\, Matthew and Ryan McGuigan and their band\, the show relies on audience members to choose the entire setlist. \nBefore the show starts\, attendees are asked to fill out a request card with their name\, favorite Beatles song\, and the reason why they chose that song. Minutes before the show starts\, these cards are collected and a custom setlist is created based on these requests. Throughout the night\, the band weaves audience members’ personal stories\, and the McGuigans’ own heartfelt memories attached to the Beatles’ music\, into the performance\, creating a one-of-a-kind narrative that makes every show different.

It’s included with museum admission. \n\n\n\nHoliday Concert Series runs Nov. 29 through Dec. 23 with performances on the weekends and Tuesdays from 5 to 8 p.m.\n\n\n\n“Log Cabin Christmas” is held on Saturdays\, Nov. 29 through Jan. 10\, 2026\, from 10 a.m. to noon. Visit the museum’s log cabin for a special look at how pioneers on the Great Plains celebrated the holidays. Ends with an indoor snowfall under the glow of the tree.\n\n\n\nHoliday Cultural Festival is Dec. 5 from 4 to 9 p.m. With over 30 groups participating\, local cultural organizations proudly display their crafts and traditional dress\, while musicians and dancers perform throughout the evening. DESCRIPTION:Season of Lights at Midtown Crossing is one of the earliest displays to go up in the Omaha Metro each year; it runs from Nov. 16 to Feb. 14\, 2026.
