DESCRIPTION:Ponder about the Canyon Pond habitat at Schramm Park State Recreation Area as participants use dip nets to see what is coming to life in the early spring and listen for frogs and birds. Participants will will also be guided through writing different forms of nature poetry inspired by the beauty of the park. \nThe program will include time indoors and out\, so dress for the weather. The program begins at the starting time and last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. This program is free and all ages are welcome. \nProgram will be held: \n\nMarch 10 from 10 a.m. to noon\nMarch 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.\nMarch 21 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

This program is for all ages and is open house style\, so you can come and go throughout the morning or afternoon. \nStations will include these and more: \n\nConduct a health check on a turtle.\nMake scientific observations and record them.\nMeet an animal ambassador and learn how they design a habitat and enrichment activities to care for them.\nLearn about birds and managing a birding area.\n\nThis program is free\, but a valid state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.

Find out on a Fontenelle Forest guided Full Moon Hike! Hikes will begin no later than 30 minutes after the event start time\, so be sure to arrive on time. All hikes will include an educational discussion of the nocturnal animals around the Forest and a brief talk into the lore of full moons.
